Description
The Information Technology (IT) Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Information Systems and Biomed, plays an integral role as part of the team. The incumbent is responsible for providing front-line service and technical support to hospital staff, responding to help desk requests in a timely and professional manner, and assisting with staff training and education on information technology systems. The IT Analyst ensures the effective operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the hospital’s hardware, software, and information systems infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting technical issues, implementing technology solutions, and supporting end users to promote reliable, secure, and efficient hospital operations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Grade 12 Diploma
- BA or BS in Computer Science or Information Technology or
- College Diploma in Systems Analysis or Computer Programming or Network Technologies
- Lesser academic qualifications may be acceptable provided the candidate has extensive experience and has demonstrated technical excellence in these fields
Knowledge and Skills:
- Candidate must have an aptitude for applying computer knowledge to solve difficult problems.
- An extensive working knowledge in the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows OS, and OS Imaging, knowledge
- Windows Server (Including Exchange, SQL, and others)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Network topologies and protocols
- Routing, switches, firewalls
- Computer hardware and components
- Website design, creation and maintenance
- Domain management, including Active Directory integration
- Virtualization Technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of Linux
- Project management and implementation
Other Requirements:
- Reliable attendance record
- Ability to communicate effectively with people that have a wide variety of skill levels
- Ability to work effectively in high stress situations
- May be required to work evenings and weekends
- May be required to work at affiliated sites
